The Christmas Sweater: A Picture
Book by Jason Wright
The Christmas Sweater
Just in time for the holidays, a picture book adapation of the #1 New York
Times bestselling book from author and popular radio/tv host Glenn Beck.
Personal Review: The Christmas Sweater: A Picture Book by
Jason Wright
Glenn Beck is obviously popular, mostly upon the radio I suppose. Never
have heard his show; not a talk radio junkie. But his conversion story
caught my eye on YouTube enough to check his rebuttal (to Al Gore's
"Inconvenient Truth") "An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions To The
Worlds Biggest Problems" out of our local library. Found it insightful, but
the format was disjointed and rambling.
That in mind, but in the mood for a Christmas yarn, I checked "The
Christmas Sweater" out of the library. It sat awhile and drew fines till I
finally read it in one sitting and then felt it was something I must own and
buy from Amazon.
Especially touching is the true story/background behind it as well as the
Truth within it. This is a classic and the world is a better place for it having
been written. Mr. Beck delayed many years in writing and revealing this
part of his life. It is certainly personal and ought to be approached with
respect for his having shared it.
THIS BOOK DOES NOT NEED TO BE READ AT CHRISTMAS. While it
certainly falls within the Christmas genre and would be excellent holiday
reading, this is a story and message to cherish throughout the year. It has
touched my life in a personal way.
Last, to be honest in my disclosure, I think the manner in which this is told,
that is the narration and style, and therefore its poignancy, owes much to
the participation of Jason F. Wright. If you have not read Mr. Wright's
books and you value reading/literature at all, you have indeed missed
something great. You ought to remedy that today... And this is a book to
include in reading his works.
