Personal Review: Technique Exercises for Guitar: Lessons and
Licks for Improving Your Speed, Power and Clarity by Jean Marc
Belkadi
Being a serious guitarist with a day job, it is always a challenge to make
your practice time as valuable and efficient as possible. It was with this in
mind that I purchase this book. Warning; this book, like all of the books I
have used written by this author, is not for beginners; it is written for the
advanced guitarist. There is no explanation on how to execute the
techniques required to play these exercises. The exercises are perfect for
the advance player looking to improve and maintain all areas of their
technique. There a numerous exercises covering tapping, chording,
stretching, sweep picking, alternate picking string skipping and legato. The
exercises within each of these areas are very diverse exposing even
advanced players to different approaches in these technical areas. I highly
recommend it for what it is a complete diverse set of technical exercises
for the advanced guitarist.
