I purchased this third edition copy as a gift for a stagehand friend of mine.
I have the second edition. After flipping through the pages - I was tempted
to keep it! As before, the section on basic electricity (line loads, paper
versus real amps drawn) was a really good reference to those unfamiliar
with basic electrical concepts but who may have to apply working
knowledge of it daily. The explanation is excellent. In addition, this copy
has made some significant updates to the material, including a a new
section on color, gels, and color temperature. I recommend this book as
an excellent reference to both seasoned and novice stage/film electricians.
