Hesley As a clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist, I have found this book very useful. Different clients relate to therapy in different ways. Not all clients are verbal. Many are visual, and many are a combination of several learning modalities. Using films in psychotherapy helps with insight, therapy itself, and utilizes metaphors as a way to move forward in the therapy process. This book is divided up into several sections. It has recommendations for films dealing with abuse, divorce, grief and loss, substance abuse, marriage, aging and chronic illness - - just to name a few. The movies chosen are thoughtful selections and their are notes in the book for the therapist and for the patient. I highly recommend this book and use movies as a regular part of therapy as often as I use books, tapes, or hand-outs.
