Kids Crochet: Projects for Kids of All Ages by Kelli Ronci - Presentation Transcript

    1. Kids Crochet: Projects for Kids of All Ages by Kelli Ronci Great Book With Terrific Illustrations Craft expert Kelli Ronci loves to crochet and shes figured out the easiest way to teach it to kids. In this delightful book, she demonstrates how to make 15 fun, colorful projects, including an earflap hat, a patchwork poncho, and a cupcake-shaped pincushion. Kids Crochet presents everything from finger-crocheting to crocheting in the round, all supported by easy-to-follow instructions, full-color illustrations, and charming photos of boys and girls busily stitching. In addition, intriguing sidebars explore such subjects as crochet around the world, the origins of yarn, and popular crochet-for-charity programs. Both an ideal educational tool and an entertaining introduction to a creative leisuretime activity, Kids Crochet brings one of the biggest trends in adult crafting to children of all ages. Personal Review: Kids Crochet: Projects for Kids of All Ages by Kelli Ronci I borrowed this book and a few other kids crochet books from my local library a few months back. By far this one was the best. At 26 with a few moments of single crochet and endless chains from childhood, I was just starting out and I couldn't read the adult pattern books so I got this one instead. This one takes you from your first square to your first sweater. Its amazingly clear and simple and has a good range of cute and practical projects. I just love the snail and butterfly pillows and the cute cupcake pincushion. If memory serves it will only tell you how to single crochet but it has an abbreviation chart for those hoping to move up to the more adult oriented patterns. It teaches shaping with increases and decreases, color changing, I believe a brief mention of care and cleaning, blocking technique and many other useful skills. There is also a list of websites and charities. I will most likely eventually add this one to my library as it has useful projects and will come in handy when I have children or need to teach a friend crochet.
