    2. Supports MP3/WMA Files via CD-R/RW, SD card, or USB The HD5112 can play MP3/WMA directly from files contained on a CD-R/RW, SD card, or USB device using the buttons on the receiver. Burn a disc or just quickly drag some files to a USB jump drive or SD card, and head out the door with your latest faves. Installing a USB device is simple--insert your USB thumb drive into the USB slot on the front of the radio, and the unit will automatically search for MP3 and WMA files on the device and begin playback. Same goes for insertion of an SD card under the front panel. Made for iPod This unit is equipped with an iPod-ready function that will allow you to control your iPod (if compatible) using the front panel control buttons. Just hook up your iPod with the included jLink iPod cable and take your iTunes library on the road. The following iPod versions are supported: iPod classic 3G (Firmware version 2.2 only), 4G, 5G, 5.5G, 6G iPod mini iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G Input/Output The HD5112 features a 3.5-mm auxiliary input for connecting external devices like MP3 players. If you need a little more power, you can use the rear pre-amp line output to send to an external amplifier. Customize your Sound No matter your audio source, dial in settings to get just the sound you need. Use one of three EQ presets--along with bass/treble, balance, and fader settings--or switch on the Loudness feature to optimize listening at low levels. Personal Review: Jensen HD5112 HD Radio/CD/MP3/WMA/USB/ SD Card/iPod Receiver with Detachable Faceplate I was looking for a stereo that had USB or SD support and an AUX input on the front. I shopped around a lot of sites and luckily came across this
    3. unit. I was initially worried about the power output, but this system puts out plenty of power for my car speaker system and good sound quality. I've only had it for a week or so, but I've tried most of the features. I've pulled in over 16 extra HD stations from just the generic FM band, make sure you read the book on how to switch HD channels. HD channel availability will of course vary by city location and offerings. I've tried the SD card, and it plays my MP3 files with no problem. I can't get it to play my WMA files on the SD card. I will need to research further or only use MP3 formated files. It reads the tag information off of my MP3 files so I can see what is playing. I haven't figured out how to catalog or jump to just the songs I want. Not sure if this unit will support that. The CD player plays both my WMAs and MP3s with no problem and displays the tag information. All around this unit has exceeded my expectations, with limited downsides like the problems with not reading some WMA file formats on the SD card. It comes with IPOD cables, Aux cable, and pre-amp outputs for those that want to connect to an AMP. Also, make sure you remove the two small screws on the top with red tags. If you forget, you won't be able to insert a CD into the CD player, since these appear to stabilize the head while in shipment. I tested out my unit before I assembled it into the dash permanently. Also buy your car's corresponding radio connectors to make it easy to install to your current system. Notice: If you have a car with Onstar, you will be required to order an additional control module between it and the car stereo to handle some of the features the stock stereo did for Onstar. I don't equate the sound quality to Alpine or a high end Kenwood, but I would say it matched many of the JVC and other systems that I tested out at the brick and mortar stores.
