Personal Review: Information Technology Project Management,
Reprint (with Microsoft Project 2007) by Kathy Schwalbe
While working on my degree in Information Systems Management, this
book was required reading. Though that was two editions ago, I look back
fondly at this book being my first project management related book. Even
after getting my PMP, I still think it was very well presented. This 5th
edition is no different. Upon reviewing a copy, the author has stayed
current and done an excellent job.
For those who are just getting their feet wet, I would certainly recommend
reading this book and doing the exercises. Even if you don't want to be a
project manager, if you use MS Project, this will help you. The author
demonstrates project management methodology very well through the
practical utilization of a trial copy of MS Project, included with the book.
Regards,
Derek Huether, PMP
