I was always a big fan of Italy and everything Italian (food, fashion, art,
design and architecture) and I travelled to Italy many times always coming
back and thinking that maybe some day I will stay there forever.
During my visits I met many people from different walks of life and was
always intrigued by their often critical opinions of this beautiful country. I
know that Europeans are prone to criticism (I am one of them and I am
guilty of this trait as well ;-) , I know that life is not always easy, but I never
believed that things could be that bad...
When you read this book you will learn not only about the "System", but
you will get another perspective on how many Italians live and how they
work. You will learn how the luxury products are made and how the
workforce is treated.
I would suggest that when you read this book you have computer with
Google Earth running next to you, so you will be able to "see" the streets
and areas Saviano writes about. This is quite unknown Italy, far away from
beautiful tourist places, this is the "real stuff".
Bravo till Roberto Saviano for his courage and my hat down for brave souls
who are able to live there decent and honest life.
