Marketing wiz Jay Abraham provides some powerful strategies for
boosting your career or business in Getting Everything You Can Out of All
Youve Got. Abraham believes that anyone can advance in life by tapping
into hidden assets and developing the right mindset. He writes, You are
surrounded by simple, obvious solutions that can dramatically increase
your income, power, influence and success. The problem is, you just dont
see them. Over the course of 21 chapters, he shows how to get ahead by
treating bosses and clients as valued friends; find better and more exciting
ways of doing things; develop unique selling propositions; persuade
people to follow your lead; master the art of selling on the telephone; craft
a formal referral system; sell on the Internet; and forge strong, established
business relationships. Abrahams central theme is that everyone is in
sales. In almost any profession, people must be skilled at selling
themselves and their ideas, not just their companys product or service.
Engagingly written, the book features more than 200 examples of people
and companies who have successfully used these techniques, from Bill
Gates and Dennis Rodman to Sharper Image and Federal Express. --Dan

Personal Review: Getting Everything You Can Out of All Youve
Got : 21 Ways You Can Out-Think, Out-Perform, and Out-Earn
the Competition by Jay Abraham
Although Jay Abraham is primarily known for providing marketing coaching
to some of the top companies in the world, in this book he shows how
closely tied marketing and customer service really are.
This book contains a lot of really good advice on customer service.
Unfortunately, customer service isn't something that gets a lot of attention
in internet marketing these days, and it's really too bad.
One of my favorite pieces of advice I got from reading this book is
something that really needs to be pounded home these days: when
offering your customers a solution, offer them them a solution that works.
Don't just offer them a solution because it's the most expensive. Make sure
you give your customers the solution that is right for them.
Too often too many salesmen offer the most expensive solution without
really trying to find exactly the right solution for their customers. This
causes customer dissatisfaction. Customer dissatisfaction makes it harder
to make repeat sales. Repeat sales are crucial to the success of any
business because repeat sales are easier and less expensive to make
than acquiring new customers.
Another piece of advice that Abraham offers is to go where your customers
are. This may seem obvious, but considering the hundreds of spam emails
I get every day trying to sell me everything from Viagra to dating services,
there are a lot of marketers out there that really don't get it. Otherwise, they
wouldn't spam others and ruin their reputations for the sake of a few sales.
Although this book won't tell you how to market your business online, it will
give you some great advice on running your business and marketing so
you get the most from your resources. Who better to look over your
shoulder and teach you than Jay Abraham? Highly recommended.
