Financial Accounting: Information for Decisions by Bruce A. Baldwin - Presentation Transcript

    1. Financial Accounting: Information for Decisions by Bruce A. Baldwin Excellent Text ACCOUNTING: INFORMATION FOR DECISIONS, 6th is proud to define excellence in its approach to Financial Accounting. Clearly illustrating that accounting is the language of business, all students will be able to drive excellence in their own careers when they start with this strong foundation. This innovative approach continues to provide direction to students who choose accounting careers, and to those who progress through their careers as business managers. The streamlined new design of the 6th edition provides a clear, concise, and directional learning path so students will easily navigate their way through the material and enhance their learning experience with clear connections to topics in the book and issues in the workforce. Recent news headlines indicate that the coverage of ethics has never been more important - especially in Accounting. The 6th edition highlights ethical dilemmas and challenges students to think about what they would do when faced with these issues. In addition, updates on the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act have also been included.
    2. Personal Review: Financial Accounting: Information for Decisions by Bruce A. Baldwin I'm one of those poor souls who had the 'new math' sprung on them in 4th grade (when it was decided we all had to learn Base 2 and get to the Moon) and from then on I was TOTALLY out of the loop in math. Something didn't 'click' and no teacher caught it. I was in the group that a news story said "was ruined for math by the New Math". Unfortunately, my Master's degree includes managerial accounting. I had to drop that class after one session. Nothing made sense. This book to the rescue! As an instructor (not in acctng!), I can tell you it is set up very well. Each concept is taught in little 'bites' and I am able to understand each as I go. I did see a review, here, that said the book was a piece of junk. Even though I have a VERY good instructor in this class, I don't think that's why the book seems so good. As I work in it during the week, it stands on its own very well. I especially appreciate the examples and explanations. We follow a very down-to-earth company through the processes to run a business and keep the books. Nice. Although financial accounting is different from the managerial I must take, I now have the 'basics'. The authors took a LOT of extra time to make it work. Our instructor supplies the PPT presentations (provided with the instructor's copy, I assume) for our use, and they are great to print and take notes on. They are also very helpful if you can use your notes during the exams. For More 5 Star Customer Reviews and Lowest Price: Financial Accounting: Information for Decisions by Bruce A.
