I am a big fan of Blind Faith, Traffic, Eric, and Steve. When I saw their reunion during Eric's Crossroads Festival 2007 DVD, it seemed too good to be true. Seeing actual Blind Faith songs resurrected from the ashes of time. Too bad Ginger wasn't invited to join, but then, that might bring back some sort of negative memories of the first time Faith was patched together and urged by management to record and tour, then Eric jumped ship. I'm not passing any judgment.
So now we have a full tour of Eric and Steve playing together and seemingly enjoying it. They play together wonderfully and I only wish they would come to my town AND I could afford it. But that's why we are blessed with this wonderful DVD, so the rest of us can experience it.
Eric does a great job of playing the required guitar licks for Blind Faith and Traffic songs. Steve plays great on both guitar and keyboards where required. Both sing just fine. Neither has lost a thing.
We get all but one song of the one and only Blind Faith album, and great highlights of different phases of each player's career. We even get a tribute to Buddy Miles (RIP) on "Them Changes", Otis Rush on "Double Trouble", and Ray Charles on "Georgia On My Mind".
Be aware "Can't Find My Way Home" here has more in common with the "electric" version on the Steve Winwood "The Finer Things" boxed set, rather than the acoustic version on the original Blind Faith album.
My only beef is it would have been pretty cool to see them play "Gimmie Some Lovin'", but perhaps they're tired of that one. I'm also surprised that "Freedom Rider" didn't make it to the set, but that's the way it goes. Also, it was known (and heard on a bootleg) that Blind Faith played "Sunshine Of Your Love" on their original tour; that would have been a nice encore.
A great value and highly recommended!
