B&W Printing is a rare treasure of a book, particularly in the world of digital
photography. It contains very sophisticated, powerful tools and sage
advice for making photographic Masterpieces in the digital age and is a
MUST READ for every photographer - beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Producing digital prints requires different tools than producing film prints
and it can be a very difficult and frustrating to navigate this still new and
rapidly advancing realm, even for the long-time photographer. It's a jungle,
in fact. While there are many Photoshop and Lightroom tips and tricks
books, there are none but George DeWolfe's that pave your way out of that
jungle toward true mastery and creation of a digital Masterpiece (and at
half the price!).
The difference between George DeWolfe's approach and the others I have
seen is the difference between a fine honed blade and a shed full of weed
wackers. Indeed you may get yourself out of the jungle with the weed
wackers, yes, but getting a Masterpiece with a capital M will be tough...
and messy.
I highly recommend this book as well as George's new plugin for
Photoshop (on his georgedewolfe.com website). To use them is to stand
