After carefully reviewing all the different external drives by all the major
hard-drive manufacturers, I'm extremely glad that I decided to go with the
500 GB Cavalry drive. What sold me on this one, as opposed to any of the
others is that this drive offers eSATA connectivity option, which is a heck of
a lot faster than USB. Not only did I want my important data backed up,
but I also purchased a new Dell XPS system and wanted to get all my
important files and data off of my old PC. And this awesome drive made it
a snap! I first moved the data from my old PC onto the Cavalry drive using
a USB connection, as there was no eSATA connection on my old system.
Next I installed the eSATA cable (included in the drive kit) from the
motherboard of my new Dell XPS system, which now provides a much
faster file transfer speed over USB. It took me all of a minute to do this.
And although I used the USB option to move the files onto the Cavalry
drive, once I plugged the Cavalry drive into the eSATA jack on the new
PC, Windows Vista immediately detected it. It was about the simplest
hardware installation one could possibly imagine and it works superbly!
I'm extremely glad that I went with this Cavalry eSATA drive, as opposed
to the other offerings from all the main drive mfgs out there. Great
produce, great price and a super user friendly piece of hardware. I can't
think of a single negative thing to say about this excellent product. Do
yourself a huge favor and skip the all the other external drives out there
and get this one. I love mine!
