The new fourth edition of Barron’s Advanced Placement Computer
Science test preparation manual has been updated with a new case study.
This new GridWorld Case Study will be tested on the AP exam starting in
May 2008. The manual presents four full-length AP practice exams, two
each for Levels A and AB. Two of these exams are presented as
diagnostic tests, with charts detailing the topics for each question. All four
model tests have questions answered and explained. Prospective test
takers will also find an extensive subject review, starting with a review of
Java 5.0 and going on to cover all topics questioned in both the Level A
and Level AB exams. There are new sections on storage of numbers and
random numbers.
Personal Review: Barrons AP Computer Science, Levels A and
AB by Roselyn Teukolsky
Of all the AP review books across the board, I generally trust Barron's to
give me the best comprehensive review, and not the "breathing
techniques" and "guess strategy" that make up half of the Princeton
Review books. This might be the best of all the Barron's books!
AP Computer Science is a tough exam, but this book gives you all you
need to know in a nutshell. You will NOT need your textbook OR notes to
review if you have this book! I took this course online and didn't get that
great of an instruction (no offense to the teacher, but online courses just
can't measure up to face to face courses), so I really thought I was going to
do poorly. I ran through this textbook, took the practice tests, used the
book to brush up in tough areas, and then went in and got a FIVE on this
exam!
If you need a comprehensive review of AP Computer Science and want a
5 on the exam, there is no alternative - OWN computer science with
