This marvelously edited book by Pestritto & Atto, chronicles the so-called Progressive movement, from its roots all the way to today's liberal & dangerously socialistic system administered by the current President, Barrack H. Obama, the master of economic trauma.
As a country, we need far less government, and more individual freedom; but unfortunately the government is stepping in and turning us into a socialist republic, where possessing "too much" property is considered a detriment to society. Rubbish.
What early Progressive advocates like Teddy Roosevelt & Woodrow Wilson espoused has been twisted into an uncontrollable monster; their philosophy defined the role of government as a means to secure the rights of its people. The so-called Progressives of the 21st century have bypassed that concept, instead injecting America with a disturbing touch of socialistic and pernicious propaganda, making government intervention their way of conducting the "business" of running the country.
The overly hyped "change" taking place has been filled with rhetoric but has yet to provide any positive change for a struggling economy; instead we are beset by an enormous budget deficit, with little regard for is long-term effects. This isn't what the original Progressives had in mind, and it's totally devoid of common sense.
This book does a wonderful job of showing how the seed for the current socialist republic has been created, and in the process, provides great cause for concern about the future of this country.
