5 Things that would make you
Happy
By Varnapriya Prakash
Ever woke up one morning and felt so done with life? We can totally relate!
Here’s a list that never fails to cheer us up when we’re feeling a little down in
the dumps, hopefully it will cheer you up too! 
1. Hug Someone
Whether it be from a close friend or your favourite plush toy, a hug is almost
guaranteed to cheer personup when feeling down. Even if you aren’t the one
down in the dumps, remember to spread the love and hug a friend if you see
that they are upset.
2. Eat some dark chocolate
Who doesn’tlove chocolate, right? Dark chocolate, particularly, is proven to
improve one’s mood due to it containing the chemical Serotonin which acts as
an anti-depressant. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals
in the brain that bring on feelings of pleasure. Looks like Cadbury was right;
chocolate does tastes like it feels; Happiness!
3. Listening to your favourite artist
A study conducted by cognitive neuroscientist Dr Jolji last year, proves that
popular 70s hit by Queen, “Don’t Stop Me Now” has been the top feel-good
song since its release in 1978. Other popular songs such as Bon Jovi’s
“Livin’ On a Prayer”, Abba’s “Dancing Queen” and Billie Joel’s “Uptown
Girl” were also listed in the study. Even if you don’tlisten to any of these
classics, you must admit that listening to songs by your favourite band or
singer never fail to lighten up your mood!
4. Buy A Small Gift
Making another person happy is a brilliant way to feel happy yourself, so what
better way to do so than to give someone a gift? It doesn’teven have to be
extravagant or humongous, even a small gift can make a personhappy. The
only thing better than receiving is giving after all!
5. Thinking Positive!
Having a positive mindset is the most important part about being happy. If
you keep having negative thoughts, you will never be happy. No need to
rush and do a 360-degree change in mindset, just take it step-by-step!For
example, try to make your own list of ‘5 Things that make you Happy’ after
reading ours.
Remember, Good Vibes Only!
