4. Who is my target audience?
My chosen target audience for my baby food advert is aimed at Mothers (female) ranged
between the ages of 25-35.
I have chosen this particular age group simply because I feel that this age group is a
mature mother age and woman aged 25-35 are likely to have more experience and
training with babies than say a 16 – 21 year old would have.
I aim to attract mothers to go into local stores or supermarkets to purchase my baby
food product to feed their babies with and I intend to do this by showing love and
connection between the mother and baby in my advert. I also feel that mothers ages
25-35 watching this advert with a baby and mother will be more interested that say the
father would be.
11. FINANCIAL COSTS
To be able to create my official advertisement I will need a
set budget to be able to continue with my proposed idea.
Below I have added a list as to what I will be needing to
purchase with the money:
- A camera and lightning and crew
- An editing studio
- A management and editing team
- A production team
I am here today to put forward to you my proposed baby food brand called ‘Yum Yums’. Yum Yums is a brand name in which I created myself based on my own thinking and ideas in relation to my target audience. Although not all baby advertisements today get the right response from their chosen audiences, some advertising companies do their utmost to then try to attract their target audiences by using other strategies and that is exactly what I have gone and done. On screen I have added a few images associated with my process with the final design on my product Yum Yums. I am simply going to give you a general review of my baby food advert.I chose to do an advertisement on baby food simply because I have a 12 month baby sister at home and it’s a product that I am most familiar with when it comes to the different brands / foods / textures and pricing.I believe that babies typically move to consuming baby food once nursing or formula is not sufficient for the child’s appetite and babies do not need to have teeth to transition to eating solid foods. Teeth, however, normally do begin to show up at this age. Care should be taken with certain foods that pose a choking hazard, such as undercooked vegetables, or food that may contain bones. Babies should begin eating liquid style baby food, sometimes mixed with rice cereal and formula, or breast milk. Pureed vegetables and fruits are an example of liquid style baby food.

The effects demos were created on Adobe Premiere PRO CS4
I created both of my web pop-ups on different programs. My first was created on ‘Web Plus X 5’ which I found quite difficult to get my head around but eventually picked up with all the different functions, using images of my own and the supermarket logos from Google.co.uk/ My second web pop-up was very simple for me to create as I used ‘Paint’ which is simple and straightforward to use.

This is my results for my target analysis it shows on the top chart that 20 females participated in my survey and 0 Males. The bar chart below briefly shows the amount of participants in this survey with kids. Below the bar chart is a pie chart of the different baby food brands existing today and the amount of participants that purchased the listed brands. The Pie chart below shows the price range in which each of the existing brands come into, starting from just £0.49 till over £4.99
I initially made 20 surveys to start with, 17 were filled in and completed by my preferred target audience except for 2 that were filled out by mothers aged 35+ and the one being filled out by a mother under the age of 25 (not my preferred target audience).Although I would have ideally wanted my surveys to be completed by mothers within the age range of 25-35 for the benefit of my product ideas, I feel that the three surveys that weren’t completed by mothers in my targeted age range did actually help greatly in helping me to finalise my ideas, as all the mothers within the age range of 25-35 had relatively similar answers to each other whereas, the 3 other surveys which were not filled in by mothers of my target audience had 3 completely different answers and ideas as to how I can create a product to attract more potential customers helping me to then broaden out with my thoughts and ideas for my baby food product idea. Overall, I strongly believe that my choice of questions in my survey were appropriate and helped me to grow in understanding in view of the baby food product market for example what is currently out there (the existing brands) and what can also be out there with a bit of difference to the market (my idea).
