  • NATIONAL SOCIETY OF VIRTUAL BANKRUPTCY ASSISTANTS Introduction Overview Copyright 2009
  • NATIONAL SOCIETY OF VIRTUAL BANKRUPTCY ASSISTANTS Disclaimer National Society of Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants is not a law firm, nor are we attorneys. The information contained in the “Introduction to NSVBA” is to introduce individuals to NSVBA and the VBA industry. National Society of Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants and its agents make no representations or warranties of any kind; nor are any representations implied with respect to the information set forth. • THE VIRTUAL BANKRUPTCY ASSISTANT Why This Business Works
    • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants are invaluable to the new attorney who does not have the budget for a full time employee.
    • Bankruptcy Assistants are available to work in an attorney’s office or from their home office. (A secured home office is recommended. One with locked file cabinets, locked desk, and password enabled laptop or desktop).
    • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants are available to assist the attorney at a moments notice. You’re available when everyone else isn’t.
    • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants are seasoned professionals, most with 5-15 years experience. They bring a professional attitude and demeanor to any law firm.
    • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants are available to take on the “overload” in any law firm. By working with the law firm staff, a VBA creates a WIN-WIN situation. The bankruptcy petitions are completed in a timely manner, the attorney does not pay overtime, and the law firm staff is now in a “stress-free” environment.

  • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants and the Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney (continued)
    • Continuing education is encouraged.
    • Your “client” is the Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney.
    • You prepare Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Petitions under the direct supervision of the Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney.
  • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants Training and Marketing
    • It is imperative you receive the proper training to prepare Bankruptcy petitions. Bankruptcy Petition Preparation training is available through your NSVBA membership, no additional fees are required. In some instances, a materials fee will be required.
    • If you do not have experience as an Independent Contractor, Business Training is also available through your NSVBA membership. An additional fee is required for one on one training ($150.00/hour).
    • In order to market and approach Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, you must be trained to do this effectively. NSVBA offers training through Online Seminars referred to as “Webinars”, included in your membership fee.
  • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants Training and Marketing
    • As a “Virtual” Professional Businessperson, you must have a Business website, contact numbers, business email address, physical address and most importantly, a “secure” SOHO (Small Office/Home Office).
    • Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys already outsource most of their work through Court Runners, Court Reporters for depositions and Answering Services.
    • The VBA is simply offering one more service for which the Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney can outsource.
  • Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants and the NSVBA
    • NSVBA wants you to know that contracting with attorneys is not an easy task.
