VMC Technologies represents the Toyoda machinery product line in the state of Michigan. Toyoda’s product line includes horizontal and vertical machining centers, bridge gantry boring mills, and automation systems. Toyoda’s machine tools were originally manufactured for the production lines of a major Japanese automotive company, Toyoda’s machines machines were built to be ruggedly tough in high production environments.

Although horizontal machining centers are more expensive than vertical machining centers, they provide several advantages such as: ① increased productivity since parts can be loaded on multi sided pallets ② chips do not collect in the work zone ③ accessibility to the next work piece while the machine is running Toyoda Product Line

As the tool rotates, it removes material (chips) from the work piece. In most VMCs the table moves in the X , Y axis the the spindle moves the Z axis. VMCs are a staple in any machine shop. They are used to produce finish parts, bore holes and rough out cavities. VMCs are also available with automatic tool and pallet changers.   • 12. use a round pipe electrode to machine high speed holes into metal Bridge Mills Toyoda Product Line Toyoda’s bridge mill vertical machining centers are designed for large part and heavy duty milling applications. The columns that the spindle sits on are fixed. The spindle can move back and forth between the columns, but it can’t move in both X and Y directions… to machine in the Y direction, the table moves from left to right.

Since bridge mills support the spindle on two columns, as opposed to the single support of a VMC, it provides more rigidity than a standard VMC. In most cases, though, a customer will be forced to buy a bridge mill over a standard mill because the part it too big to fit in our VMCs. Toyoda’s smallest bridge is still larger than our biggest VMC.

Moving cross rail machines offer fully automatic five-face machining and tool changes in the horizontal and vertical orientations. The milling head rides over rails which are positioned on the sides of the machine. The spindle moves in X & Y directions by riding on the rails. The work table is stationary because of the weight of the workpiece.

The boring machining process will increase and improve the size, finish and accuracy of the hole. The work piece is mounted vertically on a table.
