One of the dilemmas that many of the entrepreneurs face while setting up a Start up is whether or not to go for a one man company for Start ups. It should be kept in mind that the answer to this question is relative and depends on many factors, some of which are discussed in the slides that are presented over here. Kind of Startup If it is a technical startup we’re talking about where there is relatively little amount of work in the other aspects of business and which could either be easily learnt or outsourced, one man company is a viable option. However it needs to be kept in mind that most Investors usually prefer funding startups that have more than one founders.
  • 4. Team Guy or not? Introspection needs to be done on whether you would work better in a team or when you are alone. Though statistics reveal that some of the most successful startups have had multiple founders, there are also a fair number of startups with single founders that have achieved success.
  • 5. The Legal Aspects • The concept of One Man Company is proposed to be introduced in the New Companies Bill 2012/13. • One man company means one person acting as a shareholder and director/promoter who can create a separate legal entity and give life to a corporate.
