How to present ideas to your investor

  1. 1. How to present ideas to your investor?
  2. 2. How you present ideas to your investor plays a pivotal role in deciding whether or not you would be getting funded. Here are a few things that you need to keep in mind when you are presenting your ideas. Going by these would increase your chances of getting funded.
  3. 3. The beginning Begin by presenting a brief description of your idea and by validating it with the work the already present companies do. You could be giving reference to the milestones that took place in your journey. The laurels your idea received from stalwarts and things of that sort.
  4. 4. Idea isn’t the only thing in your business model True you’ve worked hard to come up with the idea. But there’s no point going on and on about the idea. Your focus should instead be on the need for your product in the market and how monetizing on it would do you good. Make sure you make the transition into explaining the other aspects of your business.
  5. 5. Concrete Revenue Streams At the end of the day what matters is how you’ll be making money and how much. Don’t come up with vague numbers that represent your business. Investors are more impressed when the figures you present are accurate and appear tangible.
  6. 6. Know your Customer This is by far the most important aspect of your presentation. Investors judge you by how much you know about your potential customer. You need to Get to know your customers well by personally interacting with them before you present your ideas. Doing your homework right could improve your chances of getting funded.
  7. 7. The exit strategy Investors invest in your company with the intention of pulling out after a fixed period say 3-4 years. You need to focus on showing them a feasible exit strategy and a concrete Return on Investment(ROI) for them.
