  • Test Booking Tutorial, Student Accessibility Services
  • At the beginning of each and every term, fall, winter, spring and summer, students are required to activate their account with Student Accessibility Services. To activate, you must send us an e-mail to student_accessibility@umanitoba.ca with the subject title “activation”. In this e-mail, please include your full name, your student number and if you will be requiring Volunteer Note-Takers, (if they are part of your accommodations).
  • We enforce a strict deadline for booking all tests, midterms and exams. For anything being written in the Fall and Winter term, we require a minimum of two weeks notice. Anything being written in the Spring and Summer term, we require a minimum of one week notice.
  • The office hours for the Student Accessibility Services Test/Exam Centre for September to April are Monday to Thursday, 8:30am-9:00pm and Fridays 8:30am-4:30pm. We are generally closed Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, but will open Friday nights until 9:00 and Saturdays if there are exams booked. For May to August we are open Monday to Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm, but will stay open until 9:00pm and on Saturdays if exams are scheduled.
  • All test bookings must go through our online scheduler in JUMP on the left hand side of the screen and click on “Student Accessibility Services”
  • Click on “Book a test” from the Main Menu
  • You will need to select whether you are scheduling a test, midterm, quiz or a final exam
  • If you would like to view your booked tests and other SAS appointments, click on “My upcoming events”
  • If you would like to access your letter of accommodation, click on “Accommodation Letters” from the Main Menu
  • First you must select a term in the top right hand corner of the screen under “Show Term”, then click on “refresh”. And click the “View accommodations” button beside the course.
  • We advise all students to report to the Student Accessibility Services Test/Exam Centre 10 minutes before your start time and to leave all valuables at home. During midterms and final exams, the Exam Centre does not have enough room for all students and end up borrowing space form other departments. We are unable to provide you with your test/exam location until the day of your test or exam due to academic integrity. Do not bring anything other than what you require for the test/exam as SAS cannot be held responsible for any stolen or lost items.
  • If you are ill or unable to attend a scheduled test or exam for any other reason, please be sure to phone or e-mail our Exam Centre office to let us know you will not be coming to write. If you drop a course and have already booked a test or exam for that class, you must let us know to cancel all of your bookings for that class. If you need to set up a distance education ONLINE test through D2L that requires extended time but don’t require a SAS space and supervision, email the information to sasexams@umanitoba.ca
  • Having trouble booking your tests?
“I cannot book my test/exam because my courses are not showing up in JUMP…” – you must activate your account with SAS in order to book a test/exam, or if you recently added a new course after activating your account you must inform SAS
“I missed the deadline for booking my test/exam…”- unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any late request, you can contact your accessibility advisor to discuss other options.
