• Enable offloaded and centralized anti-virus and anti-malware (AV) solutions with the ability to integrate with AV solutions such as those from Trend MicroAV services run centrally in a security VMCentralization of AV through vShield Endpoint eliminates agent sprawl across desktop virtual machinesCentralization also helps to eliminate AV storm issues typically associated with AV services distributed across virtual machinesThis solution allows IT to better control the AV service ensuring compliance and protection across the desktop environmentIT management and logging of AV is simplified through centralizationvShield Endpoint is included as part of the View Primer bundle and can also be purchased stand alone

    12. 12. Success: Remote Access Easier
“I work primarily from home. The virtual desktop is SO much better than VPN, which I used for almost three years. With VDI I can work virtually (no pun intended...well, maybe) as long as I want without worrying about the connection shutting down and disrupting my work. As a result, I accomplish more in less time.”
- Admissions staff member
Office of Information Technology | May 11, 2011
12
13. 13. Success: Convenient & Easy to Use
“…I have enjoyed the use of the virtual desktop for my class. It has been very convenient to be able to access applications from a separate computer without taking up memory space on the computer that I was actually using. The Virtual Desktop became even more convenient when it was available for us to use on our computers in the comfort of our rooms. Sure there were a few bugs but there was always a computer available that was up and running to complete the necessary assignments for my class. Besides being convenient, it was very easy to use as well. The set up for my own computer was easy to follow and took no time at all.”
- Accounting student
Office of Information Technology | May 11, 2011
13
