    • INTROIT
    • Love Never Dies (part 1) - Apoptygma Berzerk
    • Forever in your arms, you said. Forever in my heart.
    • My love for you will make us both fly higher.
    • Driven by the power that is burning in my heart.
    • I know my faith, and you will keep us together.
    • Forever in your arms, you said. Forever in my heart.
    • My love for you will make us both fly higher.
    • I sense your presence in this room, I feel that you are near.
    • So hold me close and whisper love is forever.
    • Love is forever
    • Love never dies.
  • 3.
    • OPENING SENTENCES
    • We have come together as the family of God in the presence of the Sacred Three, to offer him praise and thanksgiving, to hear and receive his holy word, to bring before him the needs of the world to ask his forgiveness of our sins, and to seek his grace, that through Jesus Christ we may give ourselves to his service
  • 4.
    • The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined. Isaiah 9:5
  • 5.
    • If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your right hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me.” Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts, see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting . Psalm 139 9-12,23-24
  • 6.
    • Only through death can life be gained, only by knowing what darkness is can we fully enjoy the light, only by understanding suffering can we completely appreciate your salvation.
    • Light of all Lights
    • We Worship You
  • 7.
    • Take a Jesus - Eva O
    • Take a Jesus those who are frightened by the Light.
    • Those piercing sounds, open and learn how.
    • How I have learned, how love I have.
    • What was the light, that blinded him?
    • Take a Jesus those who justify the reasons why. Or run and hide.
    • Fiercer sounds of devil people preying on your Life.
    • Look at the light that guided him, look at the Light.
    • What does it mean to be seen to be clean?
    • When you’re flapping your way out, you’ll be happy. Now reaching out.
    • What does it mean to be seen to be clean?
    • When you’re flapping your way out, you’ll be happy. Now reaching out.
    • Take a Jesus those who are frightened by the Light.
    • Take a Jesus those who are frightened by the Light.
    • Take a Jesus.
  • 8.
    • God of all care and compassion you take us through deep waters but never abandon us in the storm; we walk in the dark but you never leave us without your light. Be with us in the night of our anxiety and in the day of our assertions that we may keep faith with each other as you forever keep your faith with us, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Amen
  • 9.
    • A short period of silence for reflection on the past day
  • 10.
    • Confession
    • The Lord God does not judge as mortals judge. Mortals judge by appearances but the Lord judges by the heart.
    • Lord God, You have searched me and know me. Strip from me the cloak of darkness which cover my life, cleanse me from the stains of my sins.
    • From my apathy, arrogance, my deceit my delusions, my petulance and my prejudices. Deliver me from the sickness which poisons my love for you and your world. Forgive me Father, grant me the courage I need to receive your forgiveness and renew my life.

    • Music: Alison Eve Cudby
    • Antiphon:
    • Save us O God while waking
    • & guard us while sleeping
    • That awake we may watch with Christ
    • & asleep may rest in peace
    • Lord let your servant go in peace
    • Your word has been fulfilled

    • Which you have prepared
    • In the face of every people,
    • A light to reveal you to the gentiles
    • & glory of your people Israel
    • Glory be to the Father, & glory to the Son,
    • Glory to the Holy Spirit
    • As it was in the beginning
    • Is now and shall be for ever.
  • 14.
    • Intercession
    • Paschal Candle is lit
    • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. John 1:1-5
  • 15.
    • The first candle lit
    • May light shine in the darkness for all who suffer from depression and despair, for the unwanted and the unloved, and for those whom we find it hard to love.
  • 16.
    • The second candle lit
    • May light shine in the darkness for all those who have lost their way in life, where confusion has conquered confidence, the harshness of reality has diminished hope, for those whose lives are surrounded by uncertainty, for the anxious and the abused, those who struggle to go on with life, hoping their prayer for happiness will be heard.
  • 17.
    • The third candle
    • May light shine in the darkness for the world. For those whose sufferings are beyond our understanding. The child in Africa who will die tonight from starvation, the homeless stranger who is lost in the richest city, the woman in the middle east who dares not show her face, the family in Asia for whom the new day is a day of exploitation, the tribe in Australasia who have been forgotten.
  • 18.
    • The fourth candle
    • May light shine in the darkness for the dead and for those for whom this night will be their last, for all who ache with the pain of grieving, for those for whom grief is a raping of the soul, who cry in despair at the passing of one who was much loved.
  • 19.
    • The fifth candle
    • May this light burn for a better life, a life we commit ourselves to, a life in which the glamour of evil is renounced, a life in which we give ourselves to God’s service, a life of love
  • 20.
    • The Lord's Prayer (from the New Zealand Prayer Book) Eternal Spirit, Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver, Source of all that is and that shall be, Father and Mother of us all, Loving God, in whom is heaven: The hallowing of your name echo through the universe! The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world! Your heavenly will be done by all created beings! Your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come on earth. With the bread we need for today, feed us. In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us. In times of temptation and test, strengthen us. From trials too great to endure, spare us. From the grip of all that is evil, free us. For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and for ever. Amen

    • God is Over All
    • (Julian of Norwich)
    • The Trinity is God, and God is the Trinity.
    • The Trinity is our maker and keeper.
    • The Trinity is our everlasting lover, our joy and our bliss, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    • Lord, you know what I desire, but I desire it only if it is your will that I should have it.
    • If it is not your will, good Lord, do not be displeased, for my will is to do your will.
    • I desired to suffer with him.
    • He is our clothing. In his love he wraps and holds us. He enfolds us for love, and he will never let us go.
    • I saw that he is everything that is good.
  • 22.
    • Blessed be!
    • Words and music by Alison Eve Cudby
    • I stand strong today in the power of the Trinity
    • A mighty shield I bind unto myself
    • Three in One, the eternal community
    • Bound with the mighty force of love
    • Strong in the power that gathers me up
    • Into that blessed circle of love
    • Drawn from myself to be hidden deep within
    • That spinning and shining darkness
    • Blessed be, O blessed be
    • The most Holy Trinity
    • Three in One and One in Three,
    • Blessed be!
    • Blessed be, O blessed be
    • The Father, Son and Holy Spirit
    • Flowing out-the fount of love.
    • Holy, holy, three times holy
    • In earth and heaven the song is just the same
    • Yet resounding anew with each generation
    • Ancient love setting us ablaze
    • Creator God, O suffering saviour
    • Firebreathing Spirit, burning us with love
    • Transformed within, a holy alchemy
    • Draws us into the glorious heart of love
    • Blessed be…
  • 23.
    • Blessing
    • Go, and know that the Lord goes with you; Let him lead you each day into the quiet place of your heart, where He will speak with you; know that He loves you and watches over you – that He listens to you in gentle understanding, that He is with you always, wherever you are and however you may feel, and may the Blessing of God, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, be with you, strengthening you in God’s service. Amen .
