  3. How to make BAD publicity Our society, RSUS is great, come to our meeting on Wednesday What do you do? When? I have a question, where can I find out more? How can I get in touch? Where? Will I like it? What does that mean?!
  4. Make the most of your publicity <ul><li>Link to each other – include your website on your poster, sign people up to your mailing list at your events </li></ul><ul><li>Include some general blurb/branding on everything – let your events advertise your group </li></ul><ul><li>Think about it from your audience’s perspective </li></ul><ul><li>Have a plan! </li></ul><ul><li>Think what you’re trying to say </li></ul>

Posters/Flyers/Leaflets <ul><li>Cheap </li></ul><ul><li>Visual </li></ul><ul><li>Branding </li></ul><ul><li>Hold information </li></ul><ul><li>‘ Poster blindness’ </li></ul><ul><li>‘ Flyer fatigue’ </li></ul><ul><li>Distribution </li></ul><ul><li>Not very targeted </li></ul><ul><li>Not very eco-friendly </li></ul>Ask in the Activities Centre for cheap local printers or search online Don’t forget to plan in advance

Mailing lists <ul><li>Targeted at relevant people </li></ul><ul><li>Good way to stay in touch with people </li></ul><ul><li>Easy for people to reply </li></ul><ul><li>Free! </li></ul><ul><li>Require mailing list owner approval </li></ul><ul><li>No guarantee it will be read </li></ul><ul><li>Have to gather addresses </li></ul>Don’t spam department/other lists!
