TAA Community College Training Grant Talking PointsThe Department of Labor is requesting proposals for institutions and consortiums led by a Community College to compete for a minimum of 2.5 million dollars over a four-year period to assist workers eligible for training under the Trade Adjustment (TAA) for Workers Program.Salt Lake Community College is taking the lead on developing a system-wide consortium grant to apply for the funds.The funding will be available to support community colleges and other partners to expand and improve delivery of education and career training programs that can be completed in two years or less.These training programs will target TAA eligible workers, but can serve a broader population where appropriate.Representatives from each of the institutions are currently working on preparing the grant. The grant has a due date in April.
Comment on UHEAA’s efforts to obtain a Direct Loan servicing contract and that the Department of Education recently let us know that our proposal was one of the most highly rated.
Let the Regents know of OCHE’s college outreach efforts and UHEAA’s activities in support of those efforts.
