Abdul Kalam, Former President of India. Like the exponential growth of any demand-sector; in the renewable energy sector also, the private investment is vital for enhancing the market access for clean energy and crucial to achieve the next stage of energy independence. In this regard, Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ), Germany and MNRE has developed a bilateral technical co-operation collaboration, “Indo-German Energy Program - Renewable Energy Component” (IGEN-RE).BMZ has commissioned GIZ with the implementation of the project. The overall aim of this project is to improve the conditions for private investment in providing access to clean energy in rural areas from renewable energy sources. As a part of the IGEN-RE program, GIZ has entered into an agreement with the Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) to help strengthen the various schemes being implemented by them to promote clean energy solutions in rural areas. With the aforementioned backdrop, Centre for Management Development, with support of GIZ and UREDA are conducting training program on Approaches to Clean Energy Market Access Enhancement for Para Technicians and Akshay Urja shop owners in Uttarakhand.
