  • 2. Essential Zen Email Habits Zen no longer is just the buddhist word. It has taken over all aspects of our life. The western civilisation is trying to incorporate mindfulness and zen habits into all aspects of our lives. Email management can also become a lot more effective with those essential zen habits. Give them a try. www.unmess.co
  • 3. Don’t check email first thing in the morning, or have it constantly on. Keeping email open and checking it frequently is totally counter productive. Shedule email time and keep it that way. Be consistent and assertive. #1
  • 4. When you check your email, dispose of each one, one at a time, right away. Email management is about making decisions fast. Open each email and make quick decisions based on GTD methodology. Turn email into ‘to dos’, calendar events, reference material or trash them. Simple!#2
  • 5. If you can respond to it in a minute or two, do so immediately. It is my golden rule. If I can do something in less than two minutes I must do it. I mean, I want to do it. This rule also applies to emails. #3
  • 6. Be mindful and focus on your emails Focus on the present task. If it’s digesting your inbox – do it mindfully. This is one of the key factors in productivity. Turn off notifications and focus on what you gotta do. #4
  • 7. Less is more. Keep your emails short and sweet. I challenge myself to answer all emails with 1-5 sentences. Keeping emails short means it’s quick to reply. It also teaches you precision and clear thinking. #5
