ICH IN CROATIAICH IN CROATIACROATIAN LEGISLATURE• Article 9 of the 1999 Act for the Protection of Cultural Heritage- definition“the intangible cultural goods may be various forms and expressions of spiritual origin transmitted orally or otherwise, especially:1. language, dialects, speeches, toponyms, oral expressions and oral literature of all kind;2. folk creativity in the area of music, dance, play, customs, ceremonies, rituals, as well as other traditional and folk values;3. traditional artistry and craftsmanship”- obligation of safeguarding• Regulations Book on the Registry of Cultural Goods- possibility of inscription in the national Registry• 2003 UNESCO Convention- signed in 2005

ICH IN CROATIAICH IN CROATIAIMPLEMENTATION1999 Act- 2004: first inscriptions in the national Registry- until today: 130 inscribed, 100 or more in preparation- support for the programmes- raising awareness for safeguarding2003 Convention- 2003 and 2005: 2 propositions from Croatia for the Masterpieces- 2009: first 7 elements inscribed on the Representative list- until today: 12 elements on the Representative and 1 on Urgent Safeguarding List- 1 nomination for 2014 and 2 multinational nominations for 2013 and 2014- 2008 – 2012: Croatia member of the Intergovernmental Committee- various safeguarding activities and awareness about the ICH value
