  • Working Together Nehemiah 3 1
  • Working together gets the job done 2
  • Working Together Demands Coordination God honors your thoughtful plans “Plan your work, Work your plan but recognize God as the divine resource” 3
  • Working Together Demands Cooperation God honors your hard work. “Everyone has a job to do” 4
  • Colossians 3:23-24 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 5
  • Work is Good Genesis 2:15 15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 6
  • Choosing Not To Work Is Not Good 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “If a man will not work, he shall not eat.” 11 We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. 7
  • Working Together Demands Commendation Commendation is a great source of encouragement. “We need to encourage one another” 8
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:11 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 14 And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 9
  • The church is place for encouragement Hebrews 10:24-25 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. 10
  • Proverbs 12:25 25 An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. 11
  • Proverbs 16:24 24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. 12
  • Proverbs 25:11 11 A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. 13
