Chinese Characters Show Christian Religion - Presentation Transcript

Amazing! Chinese characters show the evidence of the Bible stories.
Today we will learn some Chinese characters from the Christian perspective. Though there are numerous religions in Asia, some Chinese characters show the evidence of the Bible stories. Isn’t it amazing?
      船Chuán
      In English: boat, ship
chinese Origin: The character 船 represents eight (八) people (口) on the boat (舟). Remember there were exactly eight people on Noah’s ark?
      福Fú
      In English: blessing
Chinese origin: The character 福 shows God (示) created a garden (一、口、田) for Eden and Eve. It was a blessing of God.
      造 Zào
      In English: creation
Chinese origin: From Genesis 2:7, we can see how God created humans. The verse says, “the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” As the character 造 shows, humans were originally from the dust (土), given a breath (口) from God, and then had the movement of life (丿) and the ability to walk (辶).
      婪 Lán
      In English: to covet, desire
Chinese origin: The character 婪 can be deciphered as 女 (woman) and 林 (trees), meaning “to covet and desire.” This character pictures a woman making a decision between two trees. Remember in Genesis 2:8-9, it says there were a tree of life and a tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden?
      禁 Jìn
In English: forbidden (adjective), to warn (verb)
Chinese origin: The character 禁 demonstrates again how God asked Adam and Eve to choose between the two tress in the garden. 禁 consists of 林 (trees) and 示 (the command of God), meaning “God made a commandment about the two trees.”
