ISABEL MOCTEZUMA & MICAELA ANGELA CARRILLO ISABEL MOCTEZUMA • she was taken prisoner by the conquistadors after the invasion. • She was made wife to many high ranking spaniards. • At the same time, she was used as a key tool in the christianization of mexico. MICAELA ANGELA CARRILLO • Became a widow after the death of her husband. • Left alone to raise her daughter. • She and her daughter were well known for their independence and self producing lifestyles.

DAMIANA DA CUNHA & CATARINA DE MONTE SINAY DAMIANA DA CUNHA • She was one of few female revolutionarys. • She was a catechist and a sertanista. • She wore herself out in futile efforts to bring peace to the frontier, to preserve the aldeia way of life, and to save her people from extinction by settlers. CATARINA DE MONTE SINAY • She was a nun and entrepreneur. • She went against archbishop rule and did certain things to benefit the villagers without his permission. • On her death bed she begged the archbishop for forgiveness. • Before she was bed ridden she fought for special benefits for her fellow nuns after she dies.
  4. 4. BEATRIZ DE PADILLA • She was not known for good things. • She was a mother, but was also a mistress. • Beatriz was accused of having caused dreadful and mysterious things to happen to two of her lovers. • She poisoned one and used “witch craft” to cause the other one to go crazy.
  5. 5. SUMMARY • All of these women (excluding beatriz de padilla) were very active women in society. • They were very passionate about their families and their people. • Fought for good.
