Similarly, other health markers such as blood sugar and blood pressure tend to improve with weight loss.The solution is to gather together all the will power you have, and force yourself to stay away from junk-foods and begin doing cardiovascular exercise 5 days a week.

In this modern creation were majority of the population is working on ways to reduce weight, yet there are quite a few people who are concerned by the failure to gain or maintain healthy weight. Its hard to determine what the best diet is and what foods are actually good for us. Many foods have been heavily promoted as being healthy when they are nothing more than pernicious junk foods. Here is a list of foods that may cause you to gain weight if consumed in high amounts or far less good for you than you’ve been led to believe:
  • 3. Processed meat According to a research recently , meats preserved by smoking, curing, or salting, or that contain chemical preservatives, are linked to an increased risk of colon cancer. These products also tend to have lots of salt, fat, and cholesterol, and very few nutrients, like fiber which will prevent you from losing weight. Processed meat such as hot dogs, bacon, salami are incredibly high in fat, most of which is saturated which can increase your of heart disease and certain cancers. This can also contribute to weight gain.
  • 4. Soda Soda and other fizzy drinks make you retain water, which is not good neither for your health nor for your diet. With high levels of sugar, acids, preservatives and other harmful ingredients, soda causes more damage to the body than just expanding the waistline. People often prefer diet sodas as they think this as safe, but diet soda has health risks too, including an increased risk of heart attack, weight gain, and stroke. Studies have shown that individuals who drink two diet sodas a day or more increases your risk of death from cardiovascular disease as well as your risk of developing diabetes.
  • 5. Fried Potatoes There is nothing bad if you eat potatoes baked or boiled. But when you add butter, sour cream or cheese and many more then it contains high amount of fat in it. According to research French fries are the number one food keeping you fat, and chips were the second. Potato chips has an average of 1.69 pounds were as French fries can make us fat by 3.35-pound gain. Despite this finding, fried potatoes are definitely worse for overall health due to the high amount of fat added in the cooking process, which is often saturated fat such as palm oil.
  • 6. Fast food Fast Foods are often unhealthy for the dieters in so many ways. Although fast foods are fast and tasty but it is best to stay away from any fast food restaurants in order to resist the temptation. It has high content of fat, saturated fats and possibly trans fat too. These in combination with large portion sizes, refined grains, fatty and processed meats and high fat cheese make many fast food options just about the worst diet food you can find.
  • 7. Frozen Meals Frozen foods have become a staple of the modern diet which is loaded with high calories. It are low in fat, heavily processed and are often high in sodium. Even if you've thawed food safely in the microwave it will degrade its quality. If you've thawed exposed food at room temperature your food could become a home for numerous pathogens that cause food-borne illness.
  • 8. Margarine Margarine is the most misunderstood and over-recommended foods in the health community. It contains hydrogenated fats and are loaded with trans fat. Those who consume margarine on a regular basis is the possibility of a higher cholesterol count as well as increased risk for cancer. So skip the fake stuff and go with olive oil or other mono unsaturated fats.
  • 9. Hot Dogs Hot dogs are low in nutritional value. They're high in salt, which can lead to hypertension and heart disease. Nitrates and nitrites are used in the processing of meat to provide the color and taste to these hot dogs. The Cancer Project is trying to get the word out about the dangers of processed meats, especially hot dogs. Eating a hot dog every day can increase your risk of colorectal cancer by 21 percent.
  • 10. Doughnuts Doughnuts are fried, full of sugar and white flour, and most all varieties contain 35 to 40% trans fat and about 200 to 300 calories mostly from sugar, and few other nutrients. The high trans-fat intake has been linked to coronary heart disease, in which fatty plaques build up in the heart arteries, sometimes leading to a heart attack. It will throw off your blood sugar and doesn’t provide any real nutrients. A large fried doughnut covered in sugar and chocolate usually has more negative health effects than a small, plain, baked one.
  • 11. Popcorn Having a bowl of buttered or popcorn popped in oil in addition to your normal caloric intake will make you gain weight. When you are watching a movie you will likely to consume over 1,000 calories and 60 grams of saturated fat per medium-sized serving. That's the caloric equivalent of three large fast- food burgers. Its only an extra 250 calories each day for 14 days to gain 1 lb which you could easily gain weight by consuming too many calories from popcorn.
  • 12. Cakes and Chocolate Having too much Chocolates and cakes may contribute to gain more weight, bad complexion, irritability amongst other things. These foods are high in fat, sugar and calories and generally provide very little nutritional benefit. The average 100g chocolate bar contains about 20 to 30 g of fat, which is over half of the recommended allowance for most people.
