  • 4. Page 4 An Interface Built For Operators Graphic Display Pages For most users, displays are the primary interface for their applications. They allow system information to be divided logically so operators can easily find what they need. Every VTScada application includes standard pages in- cluding, alarms, trends, reports, remote site mapping, and sample pages.  Open pages in full screen or windowed.  24-bit / 32-bit ‘true color’ support.  Dual / quad monitor support.  Version 11 - Developers can easily configure pages to display consistently across PCs, tablets, and smart phones. Historical Data Viewer (HDV) Part of every VTScada application, the HDV combines historical and real-time data to display a continuous picture of any number of I/O values. See analog and digital data displayed simultane- ously. It even supports square root and logarithmic scaling. Operators can easily...  Add tags, adjust their appearance, and save as a group.  Add encrypted notes to explain atypical readings.  Export any range of data to a file or database.  Display min, max and average values. Version 11  Re-imagined HDV is easier to read and use.  Select overlapping, stacked or tabular views. VTScada Report Generator Every VTScada application includes a page for generating ad-hoc reports as well as a report tag that you can schedule to trigger pre-defined reports. Report tags are time-zone aware and can run daily, weekly, monthly, manually, or on event. VTScada includes pre-defined water and wastewater reports. Add custom script reports and Excel® report templates as need- ed. Reports can be output to your screen, saved to an Excel spreadsheet, a template, a database, or an email attachment. 3rd Party Reporting - Leading reporting tools XLReporter® and Dream Reports® both have integrated interfaces to VTScada.   • 5. Page 5 Intuitive Page Navigation The auto-generated Page Menu at the bottom left lets you move quickly through your application. Browser-like buttons in the top left corner move you forward and back through recently visited pages. Individual operators can pin their most visited pages to the bottom of the screen. Hotboxes and buttons provide navigation from any custom page. Version 11 - Tiled Page Menu™ - This auto- generated display lets you view and navigate multi- ple pages at a time. Larger tiles display live data. Click to open pages or folders. See recently viewed pages across the top. VTScada Alarm Management The standard alarm page displays current, active, unacknowledged, disabled, and configured alarms. Sort by date/time and filter by functional area or priority. Lists include time-stamped events including log on activity, alarm notifications, and setpoint changes. Embed customized alarm lists into any custom page. Easy Configuration - Create any number of alarms and events. Alarms are pre-configured in Analog Status and Digital Status tags. View and acknowledge alarms during configuration. Snooze feature allows alarms to re-arm after a defined period. Configure pop-up dia- logs for high priority alarms. Print any range of alarms or events. Version 11.1  Right-click alarms to plot data or view referenced pages.  Shelve alarms to temporarily stop alerts during maintenance. VTScada Alarm Notification System OPTIONAL Receive alarm information anywhere via SMS text messages, emails, pagers, and text-to-voice phone calls. Dial into your system to check levels and alarm status using your application-level security account. In addition to acknowledging alarms, you can change setpoints, start or stop pumps, or send digital commands to equipment. Alarm Noti- fication shares the same tag and alarm databases as the application. Alarm Rosters - Create rosters of up to 30 staff members to contact in sequence until an active alarm is acknowledged. Configure any number of rosters for the whole application or specific functional ar- eas. Roster activations are recorded as events in the alarm history. Acknowledge alarms via email and SMS text message. Now supports the advanced ‘Salli’ speech engine from IVONA® . Mobile Alarm Management - Though the WAP server is still supported, it has been superseded by the Mobile Internet Client. Pick a Pin to See a Site - Sites are represented by pins that change color based on polling status. Click to open each site. Easily drag pins into place or position them with latitude and longitude coordinates. Cached Map Tiles - Online applications download map tiles from on-line map providers like MapQuest® *. You can pre-load tiles for offline applications or load custom tiles created with third-party graphics programs. Once displayed, tiles remain cached indefinitely. Mobile Mapping at Your Fingertips - The VTScada Mobile Internet Client supports slippy maps on mobile devices. * Map tiles from commercial and open source websites may be subject to terms of license, or use agreements, compliance with which is the user’s responsibility. Encrypted Operator Notes No More Paper Logbooks Are you required to keep a paper logbook for traceability of users' actions? VTScada improves this process by providing a searchable electronic operator's notebook. Threaded Notes - Notebooks act as bulletin boards, providing a way for users across organizations and across shifts to communicate and record activities. Search notes by date and print any range. Tamper-Proof - All notes are time-stamped and include the user's name. Once created, they cannot be edited or deleted. The entire log is an encrypted file that cannot be read or edited outside VTScada. Distributed - Create any number of notebooks and share each of them on any number of displays. Accessible - Networked notes are accessible by authorized users from any workstation or web client. Advanced Customization VTScada Scripting Language In addition to the drag and drop toolset, VTScada provides a powerful object-oriented scripting language (similar to C++) that allows unlimited customization of almost every feature. All saved code changes are recorded in the application version control system and can only be imported by developers with this security privilege. Examples include custom services (e.g., to start tasks or watch for events), custom tag types, custom drivers, and custom API calls to 3rd-party software products.   • 10. Page 10 Advanced Tag Management Get The Most From Your Tags VTScadausestagstomanageapplication resources such as I/O, calculations, modems, alarms, fonts, and menus. This allows resources to be easily maintained in a single database. Version 11 - Since VTScada is licensed by the number of tags used, we wanted you to get the most from your chosen tag band. Now, only I/O and calculation tags count towards your tag count. This frees you to include an unlimited number of menu items, fonts, alarms, and any other configuration tag types. Version 11.1 - Right-click individual tags to plot data or view pages that reference that value. High Efficiency Tag Development  Create and edit tags outside VTScada via Access® , Excel® , and SQL Server® .  The Multi-write tag writes up to 50 outputs with one action (useful for starting HMI or replacing PLCs).  History Statistics tag displays calculated values.  Trigger tag initiates actions based on time or changes.  Add manual tag values to test systems without live I/O.  Rate-of-change tag detects rapid value changes indicating leaks or lack of change indicating failed pumps or valves.  Special analog and digital tag types include alarms and logging.  Pump Status tags include high/low alarms, delays to reduce alarms due to minor changes, and pre-configured reports.  New tags 'Log on change' to only save meaningful data to the DB.  New I/O tags flagged as ‘Questionable’ to assist commissioning. Hierarchical Tag Browser Create and manage tags using the VTScada Tag Brows- er. Model how your real-world elements relate to one another by nesting child tags within parent tags. If you see a pump as an assembly of I/O and communications drivers, you can define it that way. If the pump is one of many in a lift station or other assembly, you can make it a child of the lift station tag. Build structures once and reuse them many times. Clone whole subsystems by simply copying the root of a tree of tags. Copied tags automatically reference their new scope. Multiple tag selection saves significant time when copying, enabling, disabling, or deleting more than one tag. Now you can rename and reorganize tags without losing tag history, page references, or alarms. Reusable Templates - Tags and Graphics To simplify configuration of applications with many similar assets, tag structures and graphics can be combined into reusable Page Tag templates. Both tag and graphic templates are easily copied and modified via simple copy/paste tools. Built-in Templates - VTScada comes with a pre-defined Page Tag templates for two Remote Telemetry Units (RTU) with configurations that are relatively consistent from device to device: Xylem Multismart, and MPE Pump Control- lers. These may also be used for similar devices or as useful examples. Included Templates - Alarms, analog and digital inputs, analog setpoints & digital controls, summary starts/stops counters and runtime totalizers, data age and communication link status indicators, latitude and longitude with slippy maps support. Page 11 Industrial Strength Reliability Features Redundancy and Automatic Failover To protect your critical process, we developed the most reliable, comprehensive, and user-friendly approach to SCADA redundancy. In minutes, configure hot back-up failover for each of the following: SCADA Servers Configure any number of thick client workstations as redundant servers with automatic failover. Each server maintains a complete copy of the application’s tags, security settings, displays, scripts, networked variables, and configuration history. All historical database servers synchronize automatically. Share CPU load for most services across multiple computers. Supports two redundant alarm servers per application. Internet Servers If a server goes offline, client connections seamlessly switch to the next designated server. Supports unlimited servers. (Each server requires a separate VTScada software license.) I/O Connections The VTScada Driver Multiplexer provides seamless failover to back-up communication networks or I/O devices (serial, ethernet, dial-up, DNP3, and radio).   • 12. Page 12 Advanced Historical Data Management Built-in Data Logging The VTScada Historian is pre-configured in every application. Tags that receive data begin logging automatically. Built for speed, the Historian can log up to 4,000 values/sec. Protect data using multiple redundant, synchronized historians at multiple sites that sync across a WAN at up to 160,000 values/sec. In addition to the native Historian, VTScada also supports Oracle® , SQL Server® , MySQL® , and SQLite® database for- mats. Log on time of day or changes in value. Use deadbands and delays to avoid recording irrelevant changes in values. Enterprise Connectivity Package Version 11 - Now standard in Development Runtime Licenses. VTScada OPC Server - Allows OPC-compliant programs (including other VTScada applications with OPC clients) to send and receive live data to and from a standard VTScada application. VTScada OPC Client - Allows VTScada applications to send and receive live data to and from an OPC-compliant server (including VTScada appli- cations with configured OPC servers). VTScada ODBC Server - Use industry standard software like XLReporter® , DreamReport® , Crystal Reports® , Microsoft Access® , or Excel® to extract system data from VTScada applications. VTScada acts as a database where each logged tag represents a table of timestamps and values that reporting software can query to retrieve logged values. XLReporter® and Dream Reports® both have integrated interfaces to VTScada. VTScada Web Services - This SOAP (XML) interface allows business systems to request real-time and historical data from VTScada applications. Supports time/date ranges, min, max, time of min, time of max, ave, total, and SQL that include SELECT commands and WHERE clauses. Non-Proprietary Connectivity Device Driver Library Use OPC by Choice, Not Necessity VTScada provides maximum flexibility when choosing monitoring and control devices by supporting over 100 industry standard and proprietary I/O protocols. All drivers include communications alarms.   • 13. Page 13 Scalable Application Security More Control, Less Complexity We strive to make security management simple, scalable, and infinitely configurable. Authorized users can manage security within the standard operator interface, then instantly deploy their changes across the entire system without restarting. Version 11.1 - Windows® Security Integration  Log on to VTScada using your Windows account.  No need to manage both Windows and VTScada accounts. Version 11.1 - Proximity Card Readers  Log on the same way you enter a secured building.  Configure Operator Notes to require authentication. A Smarter Approach to Account Management Each application includes security accounts and settings that control access to the entire application including workstations, thin clients, mobile clients, and the VTScada Alarm Notification System. Authorized users can easily add, delete, copy, and modify accounts. Rather than choosing from an ever-growing list of privileges, VTScada uses 'Rules' and 'Roles' to allow you to quickly generate highly specialized user accounts. Rules - A combination of tags, privileges, and locations that allows you to finely tune what users can do and from where. This allows you to grant some users access to one part of a plant and others access to another part without creating any new privileges. Roles - A set of Rules (and other Roles) corresponding to the duties of a specific job such as an operator at a specific plant. Unparalleled Traceability Operations - Operator activity such as setpoint changes, logon/logoff, security modifications, and Alarm Roster activations are recorded as events by the VTScada Alarm Manager. This includes actions performed via servers, Thin Clients, and the VTScada Alarm Notification System. Configuration - VTScada's built-in version control automatically tracks all changes made by all users on all workstations. It also detects manual changes to configuration files made by unauthorized users or malware, and automatically restores them to their correct state. The repository includes hash codes to detect any attempts to modify it. Authorized users can see this change history and instantly switch to any revision. Remote Access - The VTScada Internet Client Monitor displays and logs VTScada Thin Client activity. Send messages to clients and force disconnection if malicious activity is suspected. Logs user IP, computer name, screens viewed, session length and other audit parameters.
