You willthen be transferred in a private vehicle to Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel where you will spend four nights in aStandard Room, inclusive of breakfast. Enjoy your evening at leisure. Cape CadoganThe Cape Cadogan is a stately double-story Georgian and Victorian building that dates back to the beginningof the 19th century. It was originally a Georgian farmhouse which was “Victorianized” in 1912, was declared aNational Monument in 1984 and is situated in the Gardens area of Cape Town. This boutique hotel is theepitome of discreet distinction and is well known for its comfortable, luxurious atmosphere. Day 2 Cape Town, South AfricaThis morning after breakfast, you will be met by a Travel Beyond representative for your scheduled, full dayPeninsula Tour. This afternoon, return to your hotel and enjoy your evening at leisure. Cape Cadogan BDepart the city along the spectacular Atlantic Seaboard, en route to the fishing village of Hout Bay where (asan optional extra) take a half-hour cruise to see Cape Fur Seals, or explore the harbor, visiting its fish marketsand shops. Continue over the 600m heights of Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the world’s most breath-takingpasses and past the Cape’s longest beach, with a chance to spot Southern Right Whales just offshore from Juneto November. Enter the Cape of Good Hope National Park for a walk (or optional funicular ride) up to the CapePoint Lighthouse, to take in magical ocean vistas at this, the south westernmost point of Africa. Head alongthe False Bay coast to Boulders Beach near Simonstown to see a colony of African Penguins and then continuepast the seaside resorts of False Bay, towards the city. The last stop of the day is Kirstenbosch BotanicalGardens, for a walk through one of the largest collections of indigenous plants in the world. For those wishing to summit Table Mountain(optional extra) we board the revolving cable car for a 5-minute ride to the top of this legendary promontory.3,400 feet above sea level, it affords bird’s-eye views of the city, Table Bay and the Peninsula, as you explore itssummit. (If Cableway is closed due to inclement weather, the tour will drive up nearby Signal Hill). Continueyour orientation of the city as we drive through the streets of Cape Town, with your guide explaining thehistory and significance of some of its most important landmarks. Here, explore some ofits many historic wine estates with a first stop at a winery for a cellar tour and a chance to taste some of theexceptional wines of this world-famous wine area. Continue to Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second oldesttown, with its classic 17/18th Century Cape Dutch architecture set amidst oak-lined avenues, and pause a whileto browse this beautiful university town. Proceed to Boschendal Wine Estate visiting its impressively restoredmanor house, en route to Franschhoek, where French Huguenots settled in 1688. Explore the town’s shops andgalleries before returning to Cape Town via Paarl, birthplace of the Afrikaans language. Located on 16,000 acres of land in the southern part of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Lion Sands River Lodge isthe soul of Lion Sands.
