        • Editor presents title to Editorial Board
        • If approved, profit-and-loss statement for the book is prepared

    6. Clean & Professional Manuscript
      • Readability of a book is extremely important since it is the means through which you will reach your audience
        • Font style: Use a standard, easy-to-read text style for the body
        • Font size: Use an average font size of 11-or 12-point type for the body
        • Line spacing: Books are easiest to read with 1.5 lines
      • Remain consistent throughout book
    7. Organize Your Manuscript
      • Include:
        • Cover page: List title and author name
        • Dedication (optional): One sentence (i.e. “For my wife who always believed in me”
        • Acknowledgments page (optional): Longer than the dedication with more details
        • Table of Contents (optional): Common in non-fiction books
        • Body content of book itself
        • Author biography: Place after main body of text or on one of the last pages in the book
    8. Hire an Editor
      • Essential in the success of your book
        • If you choose:
          • Traditional publishing , an editor will toss out a book riddled with grammatical errors
          • Self publishing , marketing will be much easier with an error-free book.
        • Greater chance of reviews- no professional reviewer wants to bother with a grammatically incorrect book
        • Readers will focus on content, not your misspellings
      • Make sure you put your best work out into the world
    9. Celebrate Your Published Book!
      • Plan an event to celebrate the book’s completion
        • Keeps you motivated throughout the publishing process
        • Writing and publishing a book is one of the greatest accomplishments of an author’s life. Celebrate this feat:
          • Throw a launch party at your home for friends and family
          • Give out copies of your book to those who’ve inspired you
      • This is more than a book, its part of your legacy. Take a few moments to pat yourself on the back and enjoy your achievement
