Going Green Without the Greenbacks

  1. 1. GOING GREEN WITHOUT THE GREENBACKS PRESENTED BY ELEANOR OLSEN, AKBD TOTAL SPACES DESIGN GENERAL CONTRACTORS LIC. # TOTALSD920LW
  2. 2. Green Building • A building that minimizes its impact on the environment through conservation of energy, water, and other resources, while contributing to the health of its occupants without compromising the aesthetic design.
  3. 3. COMPONENTS OF GREEN DESIGN • ENERGY EFFICIENT • HEALTHY AIR QUALITY • SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS • MINIMAL WASTE GOING TO LANDFILLS • NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION
  4. 4. • Simple steps can go a long way toward improving indoor air quality, lowering pollution levels, reducing landfill waste, and saving energy. • Contrary to popular belief, these steps don't have to be expensive. Many even generate an investment return greater than the monetary value spent on the project.
