    Elaine Hruby and her husband were residence’s of the area that caught fire.
    Shewas told to evacuate the premises and flee to safety.
  • 4. Elaine Hruby’s Story…
    She grabbed her dearest possessions and drove 20 Km west to escape the danger.
    1,359 m of Crowsnest Pass land was lit by intense flames.
  • 5. Forest Fire Aftermath
    Any flammable materials in these houses were left in ashes.
    This car was completely gutted by flames.

    A sign warns of the danger when entering this forest fire area.
    The firefighters were no match for Nature’s fury.
  • 7. The Crowsnest fire helped local businesses.
    Local dry cleaners, gas stations, restaurants, and office services remained steady.
