State verses private health care sector <ul><li>located in the urban areas. </li></ul><ul><li>The user fees are higher. </li></ul><ul><li>Mostly by the higher-income groups. </li></ul><ul><li>The number in health sector is growing. </li></ul><ul><li>Faster provision of services due to fewer patients and more doctors. </li></ul><ul><li>Higher salaries to doctors, thus many doctors join this sector, giving it a lot of manpower </li></ul><ul><li>Mostly located in the rural areas. </li></ul><ul><li>The user fees are low or free. </li></ul><ul><li>Mostly used by the lower socio-economic groups. </li></ul><ul><li>The number in health sector is reducing. </li></ul><ul><li>Overcrowded with long waiting lists, due to lower user fees. </li></ul><ul><li>Lower salaries to doctors. Hence, lack of manpower as many doctors chose to work with private hospitals . </li></ul>Private State

Consequences- private health sector <ul><li>It pulls health care resources, primarily doctors and specialists, away from the government sector </li></ul><ul><li>Heavier workloads for the remaining doctors in government service>poorer quality services. </li></ul><ul><li>If government services are weakened, the bargaining power of the private sector will increase, and charges for private sector will rise>gap…. </li></ul>
