  3. 3. It is a text- and image-based publication in digital form produced on, published by, and readable on computers or other digital devices. It also can be called as electronic book, eBook or digital book.

  5. 5. We love it !!! YES !!
  6. 6. Why?? Why??
  7. 7. Daniel, 20 years old, studying in UC, has never used e-book. Example one: I bought and borrowed many books because I have lots of assignments to do!
  8. 8. Example two: Steven, 35 years old, has a daughter I am so busy that cannot usually buy books. But still have to read stories for my daughter everyday.
  9. 9. Example three: Betsy, 28 years old, a very busy woman. I am very busy, but stilllike to do some readingsduring the break.
  10. 10. Therefore… Portability - an e-book collection takes up little room or weight.
  11. 11. Save money - over 2 million free books available for download as of August 2009.
  12. 12. Availability – very simple and easy to download, do not need to go to a bookshop or library during limited hours, or wait for a delivery.
  13. 13. What is the trend of e-book ????
  14. 14. Revenues derived from the sale of content to e-book devices will grow rapidly.
  15. 15. Segmentation by Genre.
  16. 16. The e-book becomes more and more popular in recent years. The number of people that using e-book is increasing because of the new technology – e- reader. E.g. Sony Reader, Kindle, iPhone, etc.
  17. 17. The future???
  18. 18. According to the first diagram above, the number of users will continue increasing. However, it does not mean that the e-book will completely replace the normal book.
