If you are coming from Budapest to Vienna at the first sight you will see Schwechat Airport, then OMV Refiniery, then Vienna-Schwechat Power Station. Power Station is bordered with formal gasometers. Gasometers now are used up as blocking flats. Originally this one hundred old gasometers had two layers. Inside was the gas vessel made of steel and outside that was layered with bricks. Inner steel layer was cutted to little pices and were moved to the iron mill. Outer layers now are the main walls of a cylinder form buildings. There are four gasometer and every gasometer have some floors with rented flats, restaurants , car parking garages as you will see on the next pictures. Renting flats here are cheap, but I didn’t want to live here, I don’t think its healthy because this is an industrial area.2012.05.03. Gasometer, Vienna 2
