Executive Workshop: An introduction to CSR and the Business Case

A focused, high level, one day executive workshop offering unique insights into
how companies make the business case for CSR, and take action as a result

What will be covered?

The workshop, with no more than 20 participants, offers practical insights into
the following key areas for your company:

    The business case for engaging in CSR/sustainability: Why leading
     companies are involving their businesses CSR and sustainability
    How boards think about CSR: The right techniques to get them on board
     with sustainability and the pitfalls to avoid.
    What the numbers say: How companies profit from different aspects of
     sustainability and CSR.
    Practical case studies of leading companies: How they get started,
     engage, work with, listen to, and respond to the often challenging reality
     of sustainability and CSR.
    How YOUR company and teams can get started, and gain some quick
     wins from engaging in modern CSR beyond philanthropy.

What’s the format for the day?

The workshop will not be a “sit there and listen” format, but an interactive day
with a mixture of short, practical presentations, discussion and group work in
an “experiential” format.

Who will be there?

Senior and middle managers from across your business, in communications,
external affairs, sustainability, supply chain, procurement, CSR, logistics and
operations.

About the workshop leader:

Toby Webb is Founder of Ethical Corporation and Stakeholder Intelligence.
Toby Webb founded Ethical Corporation, the leading magazine and conference
business on CSR world-wide, back in 2001. Since then he has advised the UK
Prime Minister on CSR, written UK Government CSR policy (Responsibility
Deals) and overseen the publishing of more than 8000 articles on sustainable
business, and more than two dozen research reports. He also runs Stakeholder
Intelligence (SI). SI is an advisory, training, facilitation, and research company
based in London, with a global network of experts and clients all over the
world. He has an MSc in Corporate Governance and Ethics from Birkbeck
College, University of London, where he is also a lecturer in Corporate
Responsibility. He is a research fellow of the London Centre for Corporate
Governance and Ethics and is undertaking a PhD in Governance, Strategy and
Corporate Sustainability at Birkbeck College, University of London.
