Matt Harding - power point presentation

 1. 1. Matt Harding
Dancing his way round the world.
2. 2. Matt is a 34-year-old man from Connecticut in America. He used to think that all he ever wanted to do was make and play videogames. Matt achieved this very early and enjoyed it for a while, but realized there might be other things he was missing out on.
3. 3. In February 2003, he left his job in Brisbane, Australia and used the money he'd saved to travel around Asia.
4. 4. A few months into his trip, a friend gave Matt an idea.
They were taking pictures in Hanoi, Vietnam when his friend said "Hey, why don't you do that funny dance you do. I'll record it."
He was talking about a particular dance Matt does. It's actually the only dance Matt does. He does it badly, but this turned out to be a very good idea.
5. 5. A few years later, someone found the video online and passed it to someone else, who passed it to someone else, and so on.
Now Matt is very famous as "That guy who dances on the internet. No, not that guy, the other one. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny.“
www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WmMcqp670s
6. 6. The first video was so popular, it brought Matt to the attention of the nice people at the Stride gum company. They asked Matt if he'd like to take another trip around the world to make a new video. Matt asked if they'd be paying for it. They said yes. Matt thought this was another very good idea.
7. 7. In 2006, Matt took a 6 month trip through 39 countries on all 7 continents.
In that time, he danced a lot.
This second video made Matt even more famous.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwhCqXhzTeY
8. 8.
 9. 9. Then in 2007 Matt went back to the Stride company with another idea.
He realized his bad dancing wasn't really very interesting but other people were much better at being bad at it.
He showed them his ‘inbox’ which was overflowing with emails from all over the world.
Matt said he wanted to travel around the world one more time and invite the people who'd written to him to come and dance too.
10. 10. The Stride company thought that sounded like another very good idea, so they let him do it.
And he did.
And now it's done.
And he hopes you like it.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY
11. 11.
 12. 12. Matt lives in Seattle, Washington with his girlfriend Melissa and their dog, Sydney.
He hasn't had a real job since Stride called him. Matt doesn't mind working, but he doesn't much care for having to show up at the same place every day.
Let’s watch an interview with him… www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFtTSisZtVY
13. 13. Matt has a new dancing tour arranged for this year, 2011.
We look forward to following his new adventures and hope he reads our email to come and dance with us in Haikou on the beautiful island of Hainan, China.
Matt is not rich, his tours are sponsored by various companies.
He thinks Americans need to travel abroad more.
Good luck Matt, come and visit us!!!
To see the out takes and dances that didn’t make the final videos..
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT8jA_pps3o&feature=related
