  • 3. Registering with databases WHY???? You use your Huddersfield ID toaccess electronic databases BUT you can create a personal account onmany databases to create alerts, store results,save searches, etc.
  • 4. Registering with databasesWeb of Science/KnowledgeBusiness, Criminology and Penology, Education and EducationalResearch/Special Education, Health Policy and Services, Law, Nursing,Public Environmental and Occupational Health, Social Work, SubstanceAbuseScopusArts and Humanities, Business Management and Accounting, Energy,Engineering, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, SocialSciences

  • 6. ZETOC Log into Zetoc with yourHuddersfield account Set up alerts to any email address Easy to edit alerts or set up newones Emails sent every weekday
  • 7. http://copac.ac.uk search over 70 academic, national andspecialist libraries in the UK Includes Universities of Manchester andLiverpool

COPAC Be aware of material that is likely to bereference Some institutions do not participate ininterlending (Oxford, Cambridge, someresearch libraries) Get a SCONUL card to visit other universitylibraries as a researcher:http://www.hud.ac.uk/library/info-for/researchers/usingotherlibraries/

  • 10. UCO Inter-Library Loan Service Access to the complete Document DeliveryService of the British Library Loans of hard copy material Secure Electronic Delivery of journal articles Charges can be made to departmental fund Just fill in a form!
  • 11. UCO Inter-Library Loan Service Check with the LCC regarding availability ofitems for request Books are typically loaned to us for threeweeks Renewals add another six weeks We can normally renew up to three times

EThOS University of Huddersfield are among thecontributing institutions Some institutions may request payment fordigitisation requests Huddersfield support open-access (so requests fordigitisation do not incur a charge) Downloads are in .pdf format (Adobe Reader isrequired) and may be compressed (software to un-zip files may be needed) Ask the LCC if you need any help!
