Transcript of "Preliminary task evaluation"

 1. 1. Preliminary task evaluation
2. 2. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
-The camera held fairly well at times it was unsteady but we managed to keep it steady enough to record our task.-
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
- focusing on a spot to keep the camera steady.
Quality of holding a shot steady
3. 3. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
-we stuck to the 180 degree rule and used different types of shots such as medium shot and medium close up. I think they were done well.-
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
- the same precautions were taken as the ones to keep the camera steady -
Quality of the framing shots
4. 4. Quality of shooting material appropriate to the task set- i.e. the content of your film pre and post editing was consistent with the exam directives
My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
- we got all the shots we needed included the shot opening and closing the door , actor B walking in and sitting down and a conversation between the two people.
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
- we kept the camera person in the same place and whilst doing to over shoulder shot we made sure there was a clear shot of the characters face.
5. 5. Quality of selecting mise-en-scène including colour, figure, lighting, objects and setting;
My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
The setting was simple. To signify a teacher the actor had a paper on the desk as elaborated code of speech. The student worse informal uniform and spoke with a restricted code of language. We used a computer room with a single desk showing it was a classroom
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
Careful camera positions to make sure that the important props were shown as well as the characters postioning across the table.
6. 6. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
The editing was done well. Making sure that each cut was fairly smooth and showed the concept of the task which was to show a discussion between a student and a teacher after a lesson. Making sure the teacher was shown sitting at the desk first showing his authority. Also making sure that the paper on the desk was shown to present the idea that he was a teacher marking papers.
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
We took care in counting every second and cutting it accurately to make sure each shot pieced together well.
Quality of editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer
7. 7. Quality of using sound with images and editing appropriately for the task set;
My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
Only diagetic sound was used. We didn’t uses any non diagetic soundsso all of the sounds were natural. Nothing was enhanced but some bits where actors stuttered or spoke at the wrong part were cut out. If we had more time we could have possible enhanced the sound of the characters speaking to make it clearer.
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
Cutting out any unwanted sound but leaving all natural sound so that each sound worked with movement and action in the scene.
8. 8. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
We made sure we were all clear about where the actors were moving and how to shoot each actor. The use of editing also helped. The camera person chose the best places to stand to get the correct shots especially whilst doing the shot when walking through the door.
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
Where cutting was needed to make movement smoother we used it but before hand we briefly planned the movement of the characters to make sure everyone knew where to be at what point.
Quality of positioning and movements of actors
9. 9. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
One person (the organiser) Planned what time everything happened and made sure everything was up to date. It was difficult as each person was free at different times but was mostly ok.
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
Good planning and group discussion and work.
Quality of group planning, meeting targets, organization
10. 10. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
At some point we all ended up working alone and individually we got a lot of work done. Whilst working on separate bits we kept in contact as a group to tell everyone what was going on .We then put everything together at the end.
Strategies put forward to make sure a high quality is maintained.
Got details of each person in the group and had daily contact and discussion about work.
Group dynamics i.e. how did your group work together
11. 11. My honest evaluation- what was done well and what was not of good standard? Try to cite specific example and moments from your video
Over all the group worked well making sure that we all had something to do and completed it in a certain amount of time. We also followed each other's blogs so we could keep up to date and see what each person was doping on their blog.
Other points of evaluation ( e.g. equipment related etc)
