  • 2. NORDIC COUNTRIES PUBLICATION OUTPUT – ALL FIELDS Finnish productivity has been similar to Denmark’s since the 1980s
  • 3. INFLUENCE Total Citations to Nordic Papers 1981-2008 More recently the increase of citations to Finnish papers has not kept pace with increases seen in other Nordic countries
  • 4. Impact Citations Per Paper 1981-2008 The impact of Finnish papers was close to the Nordic average for many years suffering a slight dip in the last 10 years
  • 5. Impact Relative to World World Average  The impact of Finnish papers however, remains 25% above the global average
  • 6. Finland – Top Research Areas World Average The impact of Finnish Environmental Sciences papers is almost 40% above the global average
  • 7. FINLAND : CONTRIBUTION TO WORLD OUTPUT 1.8 % of the publications in this category have an author based in Finland
  • 8. FINLAND : AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT Finnish papers in Computer Science have received 20% of the national average Average citation impact of Finnish papers
