Akin png ipinapahayag ang maling pagmamaltratong ginawa sa aking kasama, ang aking pinsan at kaibigan noong ikalabing-walo ng Setyembre(2011) bandang alas-otso ng umaga. Habang ako'y nasa bahay kasama ang aking pinsan na si Joseph Acera, dalawang tanod ng aming Barangay na nangangalang Jacinto Tarun at Jun Mendoza ang pumunta sa aming bahay at nagsabing ipinapatawag daw kami sa opisina ng aming Punong-Barangay na si Ferdinand Z. Ramos. Naging mapagsunod po kami ng aking na si Joseph Acera sa pag aakalang kakausapin po kami ng aming Punong- Barangay. Nang kami'y tutungo sa kanyang opisina kasama ang dalawang inutusang tanod upang ipahayag ang nais na kami'y kausapin, nakita po naming nag- aabang na si Kapitan Ramos sa harap ng kanyang opisina at nagwika ng; ' Ibigay mo na ang kailangan nila'. Pinapanhik po kami sa ikalawang palapag ng kanyang opisina kasunod ng kanyang tanod na si Ricky Vinarao. ai sinara ng huli ang pintuan habang wala kaming kamalay-malay sa kanilang binabalak. Walang anu-ano ay sinuntok ako sa mukha ni Ricky Vinarao dahilan upang magdudo ang aking ilong at mamaga ang aking mukha. Matapos niya akong suntukin ay nakahandusay na ako sa sahig, sinipa sa tiyan at ako'y nanghina. sa ginawang iyon ng Tanod, nanatiling nakanood si Kapitan Ferdinand Ramos ng hindi inawat o pinigil man lang ang kanyang tanod. Bagkus ay nagsalita ng ganito: ' Pumunta na kayo magsumbong, tawagin niyo na ang ipinagmamatigas ninyo..Sino bang SB ang ipinagmamatigas ninyo?' Matapos ang ataking ginawa sa akin ay ang pinsan ko naman ang sunod ang sunod na sinuntok sa mukha at sinpia sa tagiliran at hita ng sampung beses ni Ricky Vinarao. At ng papasok si Jeffrey Lagutao ay ganoon din ang ginawa. Pagkatapos kaming saktan, ang aming Kapitan na si Ferdinand Ramos ay nagbukas ng pinto, lumabas at bumaba. Nang alam namin na nakabukas ang pinto ay inipon namin na ang aming lakas upang tumakas para iwasan ang muling pagtangka ni Vinarao na kami'y saktan dahil na rin sa utos ng Kapitan . Nais ko pong isiwalat ang nangyaring ito upang kami'y mabigyan ng hustisya sa nangyaring insidente sa opisin ng aming Puning-Barangay. Bagamat patuoly naming sinisikap na mging normal sa kabila ng nangyari sa amin ay naroon pa rin ang takot dulot na kapahamakang naganap.

    • Bantay Bata (Child Watch) 163 is a program of the ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. that services the needs of abused, sick, neglected and abandoned Filipino children.
    • BB163 is the social service arm of ABS-CN Broadcasting Network.
  • What is BANTAY BATA 163 ?
    • It started as a helpline in 1997, receiving reports on abused children but evolved to become a compréhensive child institution.

  • How services are FUNDED ? The RESOURCE MOBILIZATION DEPARTMENT of BB163 is tasked to do the fundraising. They have evolved an efficient system of fund generation to ensure the long-term viability, growth and sustainability of Bantay Bata 163 programs and services.

  • Launched in October 1997, the coinbank is a very effective instrument of fundraising because it allows people from all walks of life and differing economic capacities, the “ feel good ” of being able to help someone else even with “ loose change ”, in Pilipino, “ barya ”. ‘ Barya Mo, Buhay Ko ’ COINBANK Project cans

  • For it to be a substantial fund generator, BB163 has had to set up a unit with 7 staff and 2 vehicles who do nothing but distribute and collect about 40,000 cans annually.   • MASS MEDIA CAMPAIGN To date, Bantay Bata 163 is the only media-based child institution in the whole of Asia offering a holistic approach in the rescue and rehabilitation of abused children.

    • The stories aired aim to :
    1. Promote the activities and advocacies of the program (though legal, community outreach, educator’s forum and the like)
  • MASS MEDIA CAMPAIGN 2. Solicit public support for the various fundraising activities and/or roadshows of the program here in the Philippines and overseas.
  • MASS MEDIA CAMPAIGN 3. Update the status of rescued children, medical patients, scholars and other clients of the program. 4. Educate the public with stories on children and their rights, based on research and advice from professional experts.
