  • Let’s take a look at a real application where a customer wanted us to put a IT specd PC into an industrial enclosure. When we look at the heat that would be in the enclosure in addition to the Flat Panel Display – we had to provide some additional cooling which costs more energy and ejected heat into the plant that needed to be handled as well ! The cost to run the Fat Client System was $232.48 versus the Thin Client system which was $36.77 – a savings of $195.71 / year Device Comparison Thin Client $7.93 = Fat Client $56.95 System Comparison Thin Client $36.77 to Fat Client $232.48 What was a $49.02 per year Device operational difference is now a $195.71 System difference From our 20 unit example earlier that is a difference Over 10 years of almost $40K versus the 8K we showed.
