How to Get Hired as a Consultant <ul><li>Do your research – find firms that match what you’re looking for in terms of type of work and culture </li></ul><ul><li>Try to speak to recent hires from the firm – work your alumni and social networks – but recognise that nothing will be fully “off the record” </li></ul><ul><li>CVs: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Recognise the CV is primarily used to screen out rather than screen in </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Tailor your CV to each individual consultancy </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Try to get across your human side – personality, character, sociability </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Interviews: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Be prepared for case study, competency interview and group work </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Firms will want to know: Are you bright enough? Will you be motivated enough? Can you work well in a team and with clients? Can you manage?
