  • Creating Music for Film…..
    • Aim of the Lesson:
    • Further development and knowledge of Logic Pro 9 Music software.
    • Looking at loading samples into Logic Edit window.
    • Chance to develop a music composition, develop music theory skills and work creatively with music technology.
    • Objectives:
    • Able to load both a media video file and audio samples into a new logic session.
    • Define a musical scale to be used and know the notes that make the scale.
    • Identify three chords used within the music and the notes that make those chords. These will then be written on the music staff.
    • - Have a work in-progress example of the track ready for the end of the session and be able to discuss with peers creative elements employed throughout.

  • Music & Film
    • Film Score: A film score is the background music of any film.
    • Applying musical composition to film has been an important aspect since the birth of film. Each individual piece of music, within a film's score, is called a Cue and is typically a composition for orchestral instrumentation.
    • The music adds emotion to what is seen on the screen, also the main element adding suspense at important elements throughout.

    • Soundtrack:
    • The soundtrack of a film contains everything audible in the film including sound effects and dialogue.
    • As part of the track you will develop a sound track for a short film:
    • Audio Samples to reflect the action and dialogue.
    • Also compose short musical track that you believe is appropriate for the film.
